Giovanni is a partner and manages The Firm’s Construction, Real Property and Personal Injury Fortes. He is also part of The Firm’s complex and high exposure trial team with fellow partners Michael Orr and Joseph Pickles. Giovanni has been named a Florida SuperLawyer – Rising Star in construction. He is also rated by his peers through Martindale as AV® Preeminent™ and he meets the very highest criteria for ethical standards and legal ability.

Giovanni’s practice is primarily focused in the area of construction litigation. He has been involved in over 50 complex, multiparty lawsuits where damages were in excess of one million dollars. Although Giovanni enjoys the challenge of these complex construction claims, he routinely handles Chapter 713 lien and bond claims as well as breach of contract and warranty claims. He also litigates all types of construction defect claims along with professional standard of care claims involving design professionals. Giovanni regularly represents home owners, commercial business owners, developers, roadway contractors, utility contractors, residential and commercial contractors as well as subcontractors. He also regularly litigates claims filed with the American Arbitration Association taking over 15 cases to a favorable Final Award for his clients.

Giovanni also handles commercial litigation cases involving breach of contract, business torts, covenants not to compete, trade secrets and deceptive and unfair trade practices. At times, major insurance carriers have requested Giovanni to provide insurance coverage opinions and have hired him to litigate insurance coverage disputes involving construction, business torts, products liability, workers compensation immunity and bad faith. Giovanni also has been called upon to serve as local counsel for carriers who retain national panel counsel to defend their interests.

Finally, Giovanni handles The Firm’s serious personal injury and wrongful death claims resulting from construction site accidents, roadway construction accidents, slip and falls, motor vehicle accidents, crane accidents, medical malpractice and trucking accidents. Giovanni has the ability to resolve cases for maximum value before the necessity of a lawsuit arises, utilizing his prior experience in defending these types of claims on behalf of insurance companies and their insureds.

Giovanni was born in North Carolina and lived in Ohio, Indiana and Alabama. He attended law school in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and began his legal career there. He now calls St. John’s County home. While not practicing law, Giovanni enjoys saltwater fishing, barbequing, coaching youth soccer and traveling with his wife Stephanie and their three children, Rhys, Olivia and Amelia.
